Press Release: November 9, 2016. The Minnetonka Rotary is pleased to announce that their fundraising event “Links & Libations” held on September 8, 2016 at The Glen Lake Golf Course was a successful event in the fact that it raised over $30,000 for the Minnetonka Rotary Foundation to disburse into the communities of Hopkins / Minnetonka. Scott Johnson went on to say, “We set a goal to raise $30,000 and although I was unsure of our ability to do it, the team we put together exceeded that target. We all know that goal setting works and I am happy to say that our club members kept their focus and did an outstanding job by contributing their skills and time to achieve this result….. they are responsible for our success. And likewise we owe a special thanks to our sponsors and the many generous contributors.”
The total amount raised is a significant gain from last year. The Minnetonka Rotary Foundation, with our focus on “Building Responsible Youth”, last year disbursed funds for, Hopkins High School Scholarship, Minnetonka High School Scholarship, Teens Alone / MoveFwd, Camp Fire Girls at Camp Tanadoona, and helping to fund foreign exchange students.
The Minnetonka Rotary Foundation also generously funds Empty Bowls, Resource West, ICA Food Shelf, Anu Family Service as well as other monthly initiatives. The Minnetonka Rotary wants to thank the community for helping to support their efforts in “Building Responsible Youth”. Next years event will even be better as we try to make it more relatable and fun for our communities. The Minnetonka Rotary meets Wednesdays at 7:15am in The Eisenhower Community Center on Hwy 7 between Hwys 169 and 494.
