Meeting of March 29, 2017

Congratulations to Dane, who received a Paul Harris Fellow Award.
Pictured here with Chris.

The meeting began with a rousing Pledge of Allegiance

Invocation by Dane Espegard
Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness, light. Where there is sadness, joy. Grant that I many not so much seek to be consoled as to console. To be understood, as to understand; and to be loved , as to love. For it is in dying to the self that we are born to eternal life. … Amen. …. Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi….

--> Cathy’s golden grandchild recently return from spring break in Cuba
--> Char for the new name badges that Neal gained board approval for at the last meeting. She thinks that these will be helpful in identifying ourselves at the various community service events
--> Chris C. had lunch with Lenny (which would make anyone happy!) Chris is also happy about March 27th which is a day of remembrance of his father who passed away on that day 4 years ago. It is also a significant date for many friends and relatives who coincidently have birthday’s on that day.
--> Sara was happy to offer one of her patients the prescription drug disposal bag that Sherriff Stanek discussed at our meeting last month.
--> Regina knows a healer who was able to identify particular produce that was adversely effecting a friend’s health condition.
--> Dane is going to Wisconsin to watch some basketball
--> Ben also had a great meeting with Lenny (The Godfather)
-->Bob is tired of workin’ so he’s going back to AZ tonight! But he’s particularly happy about his son’s marriage engagement when he proposed to his bride-to-be in front of all four parents – whom the Hersman’s had just met 10 minutes earlier!!
--> Ron Axel had 15 inches of snow where he lives in CO and is climbing Everest next month. That’s living life to the fullest. We wish him the very best and safest trip.
--> Roger is happy about all of our founders who are still current members; Ann, Mac, Bob and Ron (any one else?)
--> Frank is happy to see his former dentist Ron Axel.
--> Lenny is happy that Nancy’s brother, Jim Thompson, fixed his garage door. His son’s piano performance will be in Lawrence, Wi soon.
--> Cathy had another happy buck for “loaning” Ron to Minnetonka Rotary from the Hopkins club 26 years ago.
--> Alexa was happy about the article in the Dickenson ND paper regarding her family and her dad’s devotion to the pop can tab drive to financially assist families in need of medical care.
--> Mac is happy that his son was handling his parking ticket responsibly and Kevin, ran into Alexa at the DMV (she must have been being responsible too) and Alexa (she jumped into Mac’s happy buck) asked Kevin if he needed a ride anywhere, to which he said; “No. Big Mac Daddy was on his way”.
--> Funds raised today, going to Building Responsible Youth from Happy Bucks were $87.
